An Authorized Representative is a person or company established in Germany that assumes transferable packaging related obligations on behalf of a producer established outside Germany.For foreign producers that are required to appoint an Authorized Representative, the representation is established through the required formal process and confirmed in the LUCID Packaging Register.PackRep Germany takes over the obligations that can legally be transferred to an Authorized Representative within the agreed scope.
If your company is established outside Germany, has no branch in Germany and sells packaged goods directly to end users in Germany, you are generally required to appoint an Authorized Representative in Germany.This can also apply if you only ship a small number of orders to Germany. The size of your business or the number of shipments does not in itself remove the requirement.If you’re unsure whether the requirement applies to your business model, we can review your situation first.
Potentially, yes. A low number of shipments does not automatically exempt a business from packaging obligations in Germany.Whether and which obligations apply depends on your specific situation and the packaging you place on the German market.
